There is no obvious way to use this item - one end I can see would go through the needle but it is very difficult to loop the thread over the insertion rod to push through the eye of the machine needle. It's actually easier to thread the machine needle without this device. The other end of the device looks odd and I have no explanation what it is used for. I will try it again but I am disappointed with the purchase.

It takes time to get how it works. I tried over and over again and in the end I got it. So, it requires patience and practice.
